Escape Hunt
Newly opened Escape Hunt is setting brain matter working across the nation. It’s now arrived in Birmingham to challenge us all.
Although Escape Hunt is hidden away behind the Hammer & Anvil Pub on Corporation Street, once we stepped through the doors. we were transported to a 1940s style waiting room. It’s decorated with pictures of puzzles, locks and themed items giving it a nice cosy feel whilst you wait for your room to be ready. We were the last group of the day to have a go but to keep busy, there was plenty of retro puzzle games on the table.
There are currently two escape rooms “Our Finest Hour” and “The Fourth Samurai”. A third room will also be added into the mix soon!
Our Finest Hour
We had been selected to play “Our Finest Hour”. This was a challenge themed on WW2 espionage, tasking a plucky group of British Geeks, err Spies, hand picked to fight against the Nazi War Machine. Without giving away spoilers, this was the hardest escape room I have ever tried.
It was a well designed challenge. There was a variety of tasks demanding teamwork, lateral thinking and a keen eye in our efforts to prevent a Nazi invasion. It was a great bonding experience with the tension only really hitting in the final 10 minutes.
There’s 60 minutes to complete Our Finest Hour. We made it out with slightly more than 4 minutes to spare. We also made it halfway up their leader-board for this challenge too!
After raiding their dress up box, we took a celebratory team photo!
The Experience
The staff are hugely helpful, special mention for our wonderful host Niki who’s guidance was invaluable! Also, until 22nd of April, they even provide you with a glass of Prosecco if you complete the room successfully! If that isn’t enough incentive to get down quick, we don’t know what is!
To find out more about it, visit Escape Hunt Birmingham and check out the other locations too! There’s plenty across the Globe.
To book, it costs a flat rate of £25 per person and you must be age of 10+ to take part.
The team were given free entry to to try Escape Hunt Birmingham, Geeky Brummie were not asked to write a blog post but it was such fun we thought we’d share with you all!
