Hello! Welcome to the latest Geeky Brummie Games Release Roundup!
This week, urban myths, dark angels and the entire history of the world.
Re-Releases and Ports
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered follows last year’s original trilogy remaster, as Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider Chronicles and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness all come to modern systems in one compilation. Most notably, the latter game is finally releasing in a complete, bug-free version, with various bits of cut content restored. This is a big deal, as AoD was notorious for being broken and unfinished on its original PS2 launch. However, the collection also contains The Last Revelation, my personal favourite in the entire series, so you know I’m encouraging you all to get it.

New Releases
Dawnfolk (PC) is a simple city builder built on a grid system, as you slowly expand your community by illuminating the all-devouring darkness. Tile placement, resource management and scripted events all need to be managed with a stripped-back, pixel art design.
Recall: Empty Wishes (PC, PS5, Switch, Xbox X/S) is a supernatural visual novel adventure where a girl named Yonny using a mysterious toy phone to connect with a strange world in search of her brother.
Another Asian-developed visual novel with a very different tone, Afterlove EP (PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox) is about a musician in Jakarta struggling to move on with his life after the death of his girlfriend. The game sees him trying to get his life back on track, all while his girlfriend speaks to him in his mind. It’s also the final project of Coffee Talk director Mohammad Fahmi who tragically passed away in 2022.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II (PC, PlayStation, Switch) is the latest in the never-ending Trails series of JRPGs, a direct sequel to last year’s Trails Through Daybreak. A murder mystery and time travel are at the heart of this epic tale.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) is the latest in the world conquering 4X series, where you have to build an entire civilisation from pilgrims in mud huts up to a grand empire of cultural or scientific glory. Newest feature of this one is the three-age structure which breaks up the narrative flow of the experience.

Game of the Week
Game of the Week is Urban Myth Dissolution Center (PC, PS5, Switch), a spooky mystery game.
In Urban Myth Dissolution Center, you play as Azami Fukurai, a Japanese university student whose power of clairvoyance makes her seek help from the titular agency, only to end up employed full-time by them. The game then takes you through a series of cases, uncovering the truth of every spooky urban legend you encounter. This is done through point-and-click clue-gathering, social media trawling and deductive reasoning.
You all know I love a good mystery game, and the demo for this game sold me. There’s some brilliant pixel art work here, with the characters looking surprisingly expressive and cartoonish, while the mysteries themselves are full of intrigue and tension. Definitely one I want to play more of.
