New Comic Book Day with Collapser.
Time to pick up some new comics from Worlds Apart Birmingham (formerly Nostalgia & Comics). These are Geeky Brummie’s picks of the comics available today from your local comic book store.
After an expensive week last week thing calm down a bit this time round. My pick of the week is Collapser #5 from DC’s Young Animal imprint.
If all of these great comics aren’t enough for you then why not bolster your reading list by checking out some of my previous choices in the videos at the bottom of the page.
Title: Collapser
Publisher: DC’s Young Animal
Issue No.: 5
Creative Team: Shaun Simon & Mikey Way – Writers : Ilias Kyriazis – Artist & Cover Artist
With Vertigo no more and DC pushing the Black Label name for its more adult focused books it leaves it to DC’s Young Animal imprint to bring us the weird and strange. And you can’t get stranger and weirder than Collapser, the story of part-time DJ Liam who has a Black Hole in his chest. There are lots of interesting things going on in this book and the art by Ilias Kyriazis is nothing short of spectacular. Young Animal is consistently putting out great books and Collapser continues this trend. I really hope you’ll give this comic a try.
From the Publisher:
“Liam wakes up in a world where he’s not plagued by cosmic anxiety and visions of the dead, but rather one where he’s a beloved husband, a doting father-to-be, and a celebrated costumed superhero! Everything is fine! (No, everything is not fine.)“
