People have been fascinated by the story of Mal Reynolds and his crew since their short but glorious TV debut. Comics have helped fans learn more about this wonderful group of characters. Now BOOM! A lot of interesting things have been happening in the X titles recently. Now Marvel are relaunching the Uncanny name with this 10 part weekly epic. Initial impressions are positive, I just hope we see more of Lockheed.

Title: Mister Miracle

Issue No.: 12
Creative Team: Writer – Tom King : Illustrator – Mitch Gerads : Cover Illustrator – Nick Deringt on
This is the final issue in what has been an incredible story. King and Gerads have done something amazing with one of my favourite New Gods characters. I have no idea what is going to happen and I’m very excited to see how it all ends.
From the Publisher:
“It’ll be a miracle if you can get through this mind-bending conclusion with your sanity intact! After his epic battle with Darkseid, Scott Free sees life a whole new way: he’s the new Highfather of New Genesis, and he’s madly in love with his wife and child. But what if it’s all a lie? Did Mister Miracle really escape death way back in issue #1? No one really knows but Tom King and Mitch Gerads! “
Title: William Gibson’s Alien3
Publisher: Dark Horse
Issue No.: 1
Creative Team: Writers – Johnnie Christmas & William Gibson : Illustrator – Tamra Bonvillain : Cover Illustrator – Johnnie Christmas
This was my featured pick on the show last week. Unfortunately it was delayed a week but I highly recommend you grab it. This is a completely different take on the story to the one that finally made it to the screen. This adaptation is not to be missed.
From the Publisher:
“This is the official adaptation of the original screenplay for Alien 3, written by William Gibson, the award-winning science fiction author of the cyberpunk cult classic Neuromancer. You’ll see familiar characters and places-but not all is the same in this horrifying Cold War thriller!
After the deadly events of the film Aliens, the spaceship Sulaco carrying the sleeping bodies of Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and Bishop are intercepted by the Union of Progressive Peoples. What the U.P.P forces don’t expect is another deadly passenger that is about to unleash chaos between two governmental titans intent on developing the ultimate cold war weapon of mass destruction.
• Based on the original screenplay by Neuromancer’s William Gibson!
• Adaptation and art by Johnnie Christmas-co-creator of Margaret Atwood’s Angel Catbird and creator of Image Comics’ Firebug.
• Featuring some of the most famous characters in the Alien film canon: Hicks, Bishop, Newt, and Ripley.
“Gibson was able to take the franchise’s existing elements of body horror and blow them out to unspeakably terrifying degrees. He put the aliens in new environments and warped forms. He built out the world of the series without over-explaining or hitting the Cold War metaphors too hard.” -Vulture “
