The Geeky Brummie Pull List with Guardians of the Galaxy
It’s a much smaller Pull List this week, with only 7 comics for you. The Comic of the Week title goes to Guardians of the Galaxy from Marvel Comics. The other 2 comics also come from Marvel Comics. Our On The Radar selection includes 4 comics from Marvel Comics, Image Comics, IDW Publishing and DC Comics. This week MEANWHILE… is still on holiday.
If you want to send any comics or details of any comic related events we should feature, feel free to reach out to me at keith@geekybrummie.com or comics@geekybrummie.com
Now on with the comics…
Guardians of the Galaxy
Issue 3
Marvel Comics
Script – Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly
Art – Kev Walker
Letters – Matt Hollingsworth
Buy digitally on Comixology – Guardians of the Galaxy #3 (Link)
BITTERSWEET REUNION! The Guardians find themselves face-to-face with their old teammate Groot! But he’s not the friend they remember! Will this be a happy reunion or an all-out massacre? It may be the latter, as the rift between this family runs deep.
LEGACY #183
A completely different feeling Guardians to what has come before or appeared on the big screen, but don’t let that put you off. Lanzing and Kelly bring the fun and powerful crew vibes from their work on Star Trek over at IDW, and reinvigorate these cosmic side of Marvel. Walker’s art is still amazing and it’s so good to hear he isn’t going anywhere soon.
New Mutants: Lethal Legion
Issue 4
Marvel Comics
Script -Charlie Jane Anders
Art – Enid Balam and Elisabetta D’Amico
Colours – Matt Milla
Letters – Travis Lanham
Buy digitally on Comixology – New Mutants: Lethal Legion #4 (Link)
STEAL FROM THE WORST! Escapade, Cerebella and Scout’s plan to perform the ultimate heist and steal from Count Nefaria has not been going as smoothly as they would have liked. In fact, they now have to face the Count and his new nefarious Lethal Legion! Thankfully, Dani, Karma, Galura, Rahne and Morgan join the fray and will bring some order to the madness…hopefully. Maybe trying to rob an ultra-rich super villain who has his own personal league of evil minions was a little ambitious for the young mutants…
Plenty of fun to be had in this book. Not sure how it fits into everything else going on in Krakoa and beyond but it’s always a pleasure to spend time with this team.
Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain
Issue 5
Marvel Comics
Script – Tini Howard
Art – Vasco Georgiev
Colours – Erick Arciniega
Letters – Ariana Maher
Buy digitally on Comixology – Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain #5 (Link)
EARTH’S MOST FURIOUS HEROES UNITE! And the villains alike! Morgan Le Fay has saddled up with her old lover, none other than Doctor Doom! And that can’t mean good things for the old country. But Betsy Braddock has a plan up her sleeve…and a Multiverse of allies even Morgan can’t magic-wand away. The fight for Britain, for Betsy, for Captains everywhere comes to a head!
Here we are at the final issue of this series after the foreshadowing of the last. How will it end for Betsy and the rest of the Captain Britain Corps? Hopefully after Fall of X is over, there might a new Excalibur title, but this time with the original team members.
On the radar some other comics not on the Pull List but well worth checking out:
Saga #65
Image Comics
Script – Brian K. Vaughan
Art and Colours – Fiona Staples

Buy digitally from Comixology – Saga #65 (Link)
Everything’s going to be fine.
Superman #5

Letters – Ariana Maher
Buy digitally on Comixology – Superman #5 (Link)
Silver Banshee is back–and more dangerous than ever! Given a massive power upgrade by Lex Luthor’s archenemies, Silver Banshee’s scream rocks Metropolis, and Superman must stop her from destroying his city while also saving her life. Be ready for the shock ending that stabs this series in its heart!
The Incredible Hulk #1
Marvel Comics
Script – Phillip Kennedy Johnson
Art – Nic Klein
Colours – Matt Wilson
Buy digitally on Comixology – The Incredible Hulk #1 (Link)
THE AGE OF MONSTERS HAS BEGUN! As an enraged Hulk tries to take control of Bruce Banner’s body permanently, a mysterious immortal turns every monster in the Marvel Universe against Banner in an attempt to free their creator, the primordial Mother of Horrors. With the help of an unlikely new friend, Banner and Hulk must try to stop the world from getting plunged into darkness in this terrifying new series!
LEGACY #782
Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons #1
IDW Publishing
Script – Frank Tieri
Art – Inaki Miranda
Buy digitally on Comixology – Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons #1 (Link)
In the 1500s, before humanity had successfully traveled the entire globe, it was believed that monsters ruled the oceans just beyond the horizon. “Here there be dragons…” was written on maps to denote the areas people dared not go.That is, until Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the seas, visiting foreign lands and collecting treasure. That’s what history tells us, at least, but history does not have the full tale. Monsters did lurk yonder, living on an island that still doesn’t appear on any map, and among them was the king of them all-Godzilla!
