New Comic Book Day including Sex Death Revolution, Star Trek vs. Transformers, Avengers Halloween Special and delayed from previous weeks, The Thirteenth Doctor
Time for this weeks new comics. Here are Geeky Brummie’s picks for the comics available today from your local comic book store including Sex Death Revolution, Star Trek vs. Transformers, Avengres Halloween Special and moving around in time again The Thirteenth Doctor.
Title: Sex Death Revolution
Publisher: Black Mask
Issue No.: 1
Creative Team: Magdalene Visaggio and Becca Farrow. Cover By Kiki Jenkins.
I’ve liked quite a few of the books coming from Black Mask. The title and the cover of this new comic has enticed me once again. An intriguing premise, this could be one to watch.
From the Publisher:
“Life is a story. Her’s is being rewritten.
Still reeling from the sudden collapse of her cover, Manhattanite sorceress Esperanza tries to rebuild. But everyone in her life is saying she’s done and said things that never happened — terrible things. Before she knows it, she’s becoming someone entirely different. Someone she used to be, once upon a time.
Life is full of ch-ch-ch-changes in this urban fantasy from Eisner-nominated writer Magdalene Visaggio (Eternity Girl, Kim & Kim) and artist Becca Farrow (Ladycastle). “
Title: Star Trek vs. Transformers
Publisher: IDW
Issue No.: 2
Creative Team: John Barber, Mike Johnson and Philip Murphy. Cover by Philip Murphy. Variant Cover by Marcelo Ferreria.
It’s Mars Attacks what else do you need to know. Mars Attacks titles are always great fun and their first appearance at Dynamite means there are some spectacular variant covers to look out for.
From the Publisher:
“The Enterprise is burning, brought down by the united forces of the Klingons and Decepticons. Captain Kirk and Optimus Prime have a plan to strike back, but can they bring their scattered Starfleet crew and Autobots together before Megatron wipes them out? The no-holds-barred Saturday morning mash-up continues! “
Title: Avengers Halloween Special
Publisher: Marvel
Issue No.: 1
Creative Team: Gerry Duggan, The Soska Sisters, Jay Baruchel, Robbie Thompson, Rob Fee, Juanan Ramirez, Jonas Scharf, Eoin Marron and Bob Quinn. Cover by Geoff Shaw. Variant Cover by Gerardo Zaffino.
A little bit of fun and horror just in time for Halloween. I always love a Halloween Special and this one looks it’ll do the trick (or treat).
From the Publisher:
“TRICK OR TREAT, TRUE BELIEVERS!
PLUS! Spooky stories starring the X-Men & Doctor Doom!
Epic thrills and ghastly horror awaits in these all-new twisted tales! Spanning the breadth of the Marvel Universe, through the macabre lens of a murderer’s row of writers and artists assembled here, see your favorite heroes and villains as you’ve never seen them before!
Also including the Marvel Comics writing debut of Jay Baruchel (This is the End; Goon)! “
Title: Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor
Publisher: Titan
Issue No.: 1
Creative Team: Jody Houser, Rachael Stott and Enrica Eren Angiolini. Cover by Babs Tarr.
Delayed from a few weeks ago – The Doctor is back and better than ever. I’m really looking for to the super team of Jody Houser and Rachael Stott taking us on new adventures in this new series from Titan Comics.
From the Publisher:
“The Doctor regenerates into her most thrilling incarnation yet – played by Jodie Whittaker, and traveling alongside three brand new companions!
Experience mind-blowing challenges and dynamic adventures through time and space – right alongside the Doctor and her friends! A new series for a new era on the TARDIS, from an astounding creative team – Eisner-nominated writer Jody Houser (Faith, Mother Panic, Star Wars: Rogue One, Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows, Stranger Things), art by Rachael Stott (Doctor Who, Motherlands, Star Trek/Planet of the Apes) and colors from Enrica Angiolini (Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince, Warhammer 40,000)!
