The Geeky Brummie Pull List with The Dreaming.
Hello and welcome to another very uncanny Pull List. You’d be forgiven for looking at the date and wondering if all this is true, but I can assure you it is, dear reader. As you know this is supposed to be guide to the pick of the comics that should be available at your local or online comic book shop this week. But as you probably aware, starting today, Diamond Distribution has temporarily discontinued shipping comics to retailers. This will clearly has an affect upon what comics will be available each week in your local comic book shops.
Right now, I have no idea which comics will be available in which stores here in the UK. Some shops may still be open and accepting mail order requests but this will all depend on what stock they receive, if any. DC Comics have announced they are looking into ways of getting single issue comic books into stores without using Diamond Distribution but what that means to the comic buying public in the UK is unclear.
What can you do in the meantime? Let your local comic shop know you are here for them. Contact them and see if they are still open, continue to pre-order titles, and use this as an opportunity to purchase collections or back issues from them. Use one of the apps or websites below to see what’s due to be coming out soon and pre-order the titles you’re interested in, since, as of now, publishers still intend to release the comics that are not currently able to get to stores.
Here are a few of the great comic shops in the UK so get in touch and see how you can order comics and continue to support their stores –

Before you know it there will be a Wednesday when comics and comic book shops will be open again and there’ll be a great big pile of comics waiting for you to read.
Anyway these are the comics you might be able to get hold of this week if your lucky including my comic of the week The Dreaming #20 from DC Comics. The rest of the Pull List for this week includes comics from Image, Oni Press, DC, IDW and Marvel – so there should be enough for you to be reading whilst in you keep your social distance.
Title: The Dreaming
Publisher: DC Comics Black Label
Issue No.: 20
Creative Team: Simon Spurrier – Writer : Bilquis Evely – Artist : Yanick Paquette – Cover Artist
This book has been fantastic. Simon Spurrier has done something I didn’t think possible and he’s done it with style. Being tasked with bringing the world of The Sandman back to comics was not something anyone could have done but Spurrier has utterly grasped what made that world and it’s characters so unique and appealing and has deservedly taken the Gaiman baton and run with it. He has been help in no short measure by the sterling art of Bilquis Evely (and the incredible guest artists) who are able to stand alongside the likes of Charles Vess, Michael Zulli, Colleen Doran, Bryan Talbot, Jill Thompson, P. Craig Russell and Jon J Muth in bringing this world so vividly to life. This comic has been outstanding and I’m sorry to see the partnership of Spurrier and Evely come to and end so soon. I hope they will work together again and I look forward to what’s next for The Dreaming.
From the Publisher:
“The unbelievable finale of Simon Spurrier and Bilquis Evely’s Sandman Universe epic is here! The citizens of the Dreaming make their final play against the artificial intelligence that seeks to replace them with cold rationality…and the fate of Dream is revealed!“
