The Geeky Brummie Pull List with Wicked Things.
It’s Wednesday so that means it’s time to pick you the new comics from Worlds Apart Birmingham (formerly Nostalgia & Comics) or it’s distingushed competition Forbidden Planet. These are Geeky Brummie’s picks of the comics available today from your local comic book store.
My comic of the week this week is the first issue of a new creator owned series from John Allison and Max Sarin – Wicked Things #1 from BOOM! Studios.
I also recommend a bunch of other great comics to discover this week including a bunch of Marvel, BOOM! Studios and DC and titles.
If all of these great comics aren’t enough for you then why not bolster your reading list by checking out some of my previous choices in the videos at the bottom of the page.
Title: Wicked Things
Publisher: BOOM! Studios
Issue No.: 1
Creative Team: John Allison – Writer & Variant Cover Artist : Max Sarin – Artist & Cover Artist
If you’re a fan of Giant Days then you’ll be pleased to hear that we are heading back into the Bobbinsverse with this new limited series from creators John Allison, Max Sarin, Whitney Cogar and Jim Campbell. This series will give Charlotte a chance to shine on her own and she’ll prove why she’s the greatest teen detective. The artwork for this series looks beautiful and I welcome any chance to revisit the world John and his team have created. If you’ve not yet paid a visit to Bobbinsverse then do yourself a favour and pop in to your local comic book store and pick up Wicked Things.
From the Publisher:
“* The Eisner Award winning team of John Allison and Max Sarin return to the world of Giant Days for a new series about everyone’s favorite child detective; Charlotte Grote. * Nineteen year old Charlotte Grote has her whole life ahead of her; headed straight to Oxford and a future as a real detective-until she’s framed for murder! * Given the choice between going to jail basically forever or joining the police, Lottie decides to hit the beat, all while trying to find the real murderer. Lottie may have been running rings about the police since her 9th birthday, but she’s never been on this side of the security tape. * Could the future of law enforcement be 5’2′ with an extremely strong bangs game? Yes. Very yes.“
