The Geeky Brummie Pull List with Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines
Thanks to the Easter holiday, comics won’t hit shelves in the UK until Thursday. With that in mind, plan your trip to your local comic shop accordingly. It’s only a small Pull List this week with only our Comic of the Week, Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines, waiting to be picked up. We also have two great comics to look out for On The Radar also from Image and DC Comics. In MEANWHILE… we take a look at the upcoming Judge Dredd: The Citadel collection.
If you want to send any comics or comic related events we should feature, feel free to reach out to me at keith@geekybrummie.com.
Now on with the comics…
Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines
Issue 4
Image Comics
Writer – Kurt Busiek

Fletcher learns the truth about his mission and his mysterious ally as they try to elude the Black Baron’s dangerous wolven agents.
It’s hard to believe it’s been nineteen years since the first miniseries was published. So much has changed in comics over the last two decades. One thing that hasn’t changed is the quality to Busiek’s writing. This new series has picked up where everything left off. It has also has done so in a way that has introduced new readers to the world of Arrowsmith with style and ease. This story of a alternate history is full of pulp delights and incredible art. If you’ve not read anything by Busiek before, this wouldn’t be a bad place to start. An oversized collection of the original series should be hitting shelves about now too.
On the radar this week some other comics not on the Pull List but well worth checking out:

While Batman works with Niles to cure Superman of his freakish transformations, a side mission to track a mysterious figure known as “the Demon” attracts the Dark Knight’s attention…and moreover, it could have some connection to Superman’s poisoning at the hands of Metallo! It’s danger, intrigue, and the surprise appearance of Deadman in chapter two of World’s Finest!

Wagner Returns
Is the world of Judge Dredd about to be rocked by revelations from the moment of his greatest triumph?
The collection of The Citadel, the new landmark Judge Dredd story from co-creator John Wagner and Dan Cornwell, is out in July.
As the Judge Dredd series celebrates its 45th anniversary, The Citadel sees a dark secret from The Apocalypse War against the Soviets four decades ago come back to haunt the lawman of the future.
As the war rages, Judge Dredd leads a squad of Cadet Judges into an assault upon The Citadel, where Sov forces have set up base. But now, 40 years later, former Cadet Judge Winterton, on the day of his execution, will tell the truth about what happened during the Apocalypse War, why the mission was subsequently covered up, and the secret that Judge Dredd himself has been hiding for the past 40 years.
Out on 20 July, this stunning collection comes in a standard paperback edition available from all good book and comic book stores and online retailers, and an exclusive 2000 AD webshop edition with a stunning brand new cover by story artist Dan Cornwell.
Expect to see a review of this collection here soon.
