The Geeky Brummie Pull List with What’s The Furthest Place From Here?
A relatively quiet week this time around with only one book on the Pull List. The latest issue of What’s The Furthest Place From Here is our comic of the week. We also have three new first issue comics to look out for On The Radar from Image, Vault and Marvel Comics. And MEANWHILE… returns to Action! this week.
If you want to send any comics or comic related events we should feature, feel free to reach out to me at keith@geekybrummie.com.
Now on with the comics…
Title:What’s The Furthest Place From Here?
Issue: 3
Publisher: Image Comics
Written by Matthew Rosenberg : Art By Tyler Boss
DOUBLE-SIZED THIRD ISSUE!The gang finds a clue about Sid’s disappearance, but it’s not what they hoped for. And sometimes a cozy home, a cup of cocoa, and a slice of raccoon pie aren’t as kind as they seem. Time to fight some Grown-Ups!
I’m so invested in this book. So much is happening and we appear to have only scratched the surface of what is going on. Rosenberg seems to really thrive when working with Boss and this book is just as compelling as 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank.
On the radar this week some other comics not on the Pull List but well worth checking out:
Rain #1
Image Comics
Written by David M. Booher and Joe Hill : Art by Zoe Thorogood
THE FIRST IN CHRIS RYALL & ASHLEY WOOD’S NEW SYZYGY PUBLISHING IMPRINT LINE OF TITLES AT IMAGE COMICS!
On a seemingly normal August day in Boulder, Colorado, the skies are clear, and Honeysuckle Speck couldn’t be happier. She’s finally moving in with her girlfriend Yolanda. But their world is literally torn apart when dark clouds roll in and release a downpour of nails—splinters of bright crystal that shred the skin of anyone not safely under cover. RAIN makes vivid this escalating apocalyptic event, as the deluge of nails spreads across the country and around the world, threatening everything young lovers Honeysuckle and Yolanda hold dear.
So begins a gripping 5-issue presentation of New York Times bestselling author JOE HILL’s acclaimed novella, adapted by rising stars DAVID M. BOOHER (Canto), ZOE THOROGOOD (The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott), and CHRIS O’HALLORAN (Ha-Ha).
We Ride Titans #1
Vault Comics
Written by Tres Dean : Art by Sebastián Piriz
Kit’s tenure as a Titan rider gets off to a bad start as a mysterious mech attacks New Hyperion. Plus: waffles.
The Death of Doctor Strange: Bloodstone #1
