New Comic Book Day with The Wild Storm.
It’s the beginning of the end in more ways than one in this weeks new comic book day. These are Geeky Brummie’s picks for the comics that will be available today from your local comic book store including The Wild Storm, Uncanny X-Men and Middlewest. Plus a round up of other regular comics you should be reading.
Title: THE WILD STORM
Publisher: DC Comics
Issue No.: 20
Creative Team: Warren Ellis – Writer : Jon Davis-Hunt – Artist, Cover Artist : Dean Ormston – Variant Cover Artist
We are so close to the end now. The Wild Storm is a series that has kept my attention throughout its run. Warren Ellis has weaved an incredibly mature story supported by some of the best art in comics right now. I’l be sorry to see this story end but I’s so excited for these last few issues.
From the Publisher:
“Skywatch intensifies its preparation for war, increasing its attacks on the planet. For some of these conflict zones, Skywatch’s greatest threat is not IO or conventional forces, but the people who escaped from its own experimentation camps. And the four people in London whom it knows little about, but who are preparing to take steps to alter the balance of the world…“
Title: UNCANNY X-MEN
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Issue No.: 12
Creative Team: Matthew Rosenberg – Writer : Salvador Larroca – Artist, Cover Artist
Rosenberg has really brought the X-Men back in style. Whilst also getting rid of most of them. I’m loving Matthew Rosenberg’s take on the Merry Mutants and I’m definitely along for the ride.
From the Publisher:
“The Last X-Men.”
Title: MIDDLEWEST
Publisher: Image Comics
Issue No.: 4
Creative Team: Skottie Young – Writer : Jorge Corona – Artist : Mike Huddleston – Cover Artist
Middlewest continues to tell a fascinating coming-of-age magical fairy tale. Skottie Young does a great job of spinning a beautiful fantasy story whilst Jorge Corona’s art complements this with breathtaking art.
From the Publisher:
“Abel and the fox have wandered into a small-town carnival where they should be able to find the healer they seek. While they search, Fox teaches Abel that survival sometimes means bending the rules a bit.”
