New Comic Book Day with Wonder Twins.
Time to pick up some new comics from Worlds Apart Birmingham (formerly Nostalgia & Comics). These are Geeky Brummie’s picks of the comics available today from your local comic book store.
I’m beginning to sound like a broken record this week, as my comic of the week is one I’ve been championing all year. I also recommend a bunch of other great comics to discover this week and you can find them all in my pull list below.
If all of these great comics aren’t enough for you then why not bolster your reading list by checking out some of my previous choices in the videos at the bottom of the page.
Title: Wonder Twins
Publisher: DC/Wonder Comics
Issue No.: 10
Creative Team: Mark Russell – Writer : Stephen Byrne – Artist & Cover Artist
There are only two more issue of this series left after this one and I wish more people were reading this book. DC has been doing some amazing things with its Wonder Comics line and having Mark Russell write this has been one of the highlights. Following on from is work on Omega Men and The Flintstones, Russell has taken a book that probably wasn’t of interest to most readers and turned in one of the best books on the market. This book has it all and when you add the absolutely gorgeous art of Stephen Byrne, you have one of the best best books of the year if not the decade. Please, please add this book to your pull and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
From the Publisher:
“Zan and Jayna and their friend Polly Math plan the heist of a lifetime—from going undercover to stealing Lex Luthor’s personal rocket, all in the name of saving Polly’s father, Filo Math, from eternal imprisonment in the Phantom Zone. But even if they manage to pull it off, are the Wonder Twins prepared to face the terrors of deep space? Meanwhile, Filo’s old sentient computer program reawakens and connects to the internet for the first time…what havoc will it wreak when it’s unleashed on the modern world?“
