Hello! Welcome to the latest Geeky Brummie Games Release Roundup!
This week, tip your deliverymen.

New Releases
Gales of Nayeli (PC) is a fey-tinged fantasy version of Fire Emblem, clearly inspired by the GBA games from that series. However, if you’re not interested in following round a bunch of lords and kings, and still want all the high strategy and meticulous pixel work, this is the game for you. Developed by Blindcoco Studios.
How 2 Escape: Lost Submarine (PC, PlayStation, NS1, Xbox, Mobile) is a co-op game where you and a friend must work together to find a lost submarine to prevent a war. One player navigates the main game on either PC or console, while the second player uses the companion app on either PC or mobile to guide them. Only through proper communication will you succeed. Developed by Breakfirst Games and published by Maximum Entertainment (Squirrel with a Gun, Wild Bastards, Sunnyside).
Ruffy and the Riverside (PC, PlayStation, NS1, Xbox) is a cute little 3D platformer where characters are flat cutouts similar to Paper Mario. This debut title from Zockrates Laboratories sees you playing as Ruffy, a cute fuzzy fellow who has the ability to swap textures, allowing you access to new routes and challenges. Looks a lot of fun.
Tamagotchi Plaza (Switch) is a cross between Animal Crossing, Tamagotchis and a management sim. You help run a variety of shops, make sure their Tamagotchi patrons are pleased and make the town a much better place. Developed by Hyde for Bandai Namco.
Hideo Kojima is at it again, roping in Norman Reedus and other assorted celebrity friends into another long, difficult walk across the weirdest apocalypse. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (PS5) once again sees Sam Porter-Bridges and his baby sidekick delivering packages for a world ravaged by the veil between life and death collapsing. I didn’t click with the first one, so I won’t be delving into this one, but I respect that Kojima is still getting a big budget to do whatever the hell he wants.

Game of the Week
Game of the Week is Antro (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S), the other game this week where you play a deliveryman.
It’s been a difficult week to pick a Game of the Week as very little has stood out to me. Then I looked into Antro and realised it had to be this. Developed by new Spanish studio Gatera Studio, Antro is set in a moody underground city where totalitarianism has taken hold. You play Nittch, who has been instructed to deliver a mysterious package. However, the government has you on their radar and are determined to stop you. However, with the power of music you can evade the dangers and complete your mission and help the rebellion.
Antro is basically Inside meets Hi-Fi Rush. Think of the moody side-scrolling puzzle platforming of the former with the rhythm gameplay of the latter. While there are plenty of tricky puzzles to solve, you’ll also find yourself pursued by the authorities and only by following the rhythm will you be able to get out alive. And look, rhythm gameplay, rebellion and platforming are all significant pluses in my book, so Antro is Game of the Week.
