Hello! Welcome to the latest Geeky Brummie Games Release Roundup!
This week, two writers, two points and 108 party members.
Re-Releases and Ports
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster (PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox) brings the first two games in Konami’s classic RPG franchise to modern systems. Featuring multiple battle systems and a party of 108 characters, Suikoden was always known for its grand ambitions and is generally considered one of the best RPGs for the PS1.

New Releases
Grimoire Groves (PC) is a dungeon crawler roguelike about tending to a magical garden. By the developer’s own admission, it’s a cross between Hades and Animal Crossing, and while that does sound slightly incomprehensible, imagine Hades but cute and with additional parts where you plant mushrooms. Not for me personally, but I know this will become some people’s obsession for the next few months.
Knights in Tight Spaces (PC) takes the concept of Fights in Tight Spaces and gives it a medieval skin. You command a troupe of fantasy fighters as they fight in close quarters turn-based battles, where good use of your hand of cards and effective positioning will lead to cool John Wick style action.
Everhood 2 (PC, Switch) is the sequel to the rhythm-based Undertale-like. Goofy old school RPG shenanigans but all the combat encounters throw you onto a Guitar Hero style grid where you have to dodge attacks in time with the music. Looks mildly unhinged, in the best way possible.
Following on from the Netflix animated show, Carmen Sandiego (PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox) is an attempt to revive the classic edutainment series. Surprisingly, the game is quite faithful to the original Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, albeit with a modern visual update and Carmen being the protagonist, not one of the potential suspects. I’ve played this one, and it’s…fine. Little bit repetitive and a little too obsessed with giving clues about airport codes for my liking.
Two Point Museum (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S) is the latest game in Two Point Studios’ range of comedy management sims. After hospitals and universities, it’s time to run a museum. Send explorers on adventures to retrieve artefacts to display, while charging exorbitant fees for Sonic plush toys in the gift shop. Good times.

Game of the Week
Game of the Week is Split Fiction (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S), the latest co-op adventure from the makers of It Takes Two.
Split Fiction is a co-op game about two writers, Mio and Zoe, trapped in a simulation based on their stories as an evil corporation is attempting to steal their ideas. You and a friend will alternate between Mio’s cynical sci-fi worlds and Zoe’s whimsical fantasy lands as they attempt to escape the simulation and regain a hold on their creative works.
I reviewed this one. A whopping 9/10 from me, without any hesitation. Spent most of last week playing Split Fiction with my closest friend and we had an absolute blast the entire time. This is a game absolutely stuffed full of ideas and every single one of them is good enough to be its own game. Hazelight already won Game of the Year for It Takes Two, and this is another contender. The final level is one of the most audacious things I’ve ever played on both a creative and a technical level. Grab a friend and get on this immediately.
