Avrona Group, a tech and gaming media production company, is hosting its debut Esports Event in Birmingham. This event will see two local esports titans battle it out on Rainbow Six: Siege in a thrilling match-up on Saturday 1st October 2022.
What is the event?
The Social Bluebook Avrona Community Cup (ACC) will take place at 4 pm GMT on Saturday 1st October 2022 at the Belong Game Arena, New Street. The flagship location for Belong Gaming in the Midlands.
The event will pit the University of Birmingham Esports and Warwick Esports against each other in a series of matches on Rainbow Six: Siege – Ubisoft’s online tactical shooter.
The Avrona Community Cup is officially sanctioned by Ubisoft themselves and aims to further raise the profile of esports within the UK, as well as deliver an action-packed battle between two teams at the top of their game.
Speaking to our Esports Editor, Director of Avrona Group Ltd, Aleksander Wroniak commented: “The nature of [Rainbow Six] Siege is way more explosive and way more strategic on an esports level than some of the other FPS titles. There’s so much more going on behind every decision a player makes. Both teams are fierce competitors so it’s going to turn into a very exciting tournament very quickly.”
It’s sponsored by Social Bluebook, a company dedicated to helping content creators make money effectively from sponsorships.
An Unmissable Match Up
Warwick Esports continue its domination of the grassroots university esports scene, having recently won the University of the Year for the fourth consecutive year at the NSE British University Esports Championship.
They further broke ground in recent weeks as they were announced as the first ever UK finalist for the Collegiate Program of the Year at the Esports Awards.
Meanwhile, the University of Birmingham Esports continues to be one of the strongest teams in the Midlands. The University consistently ranks within the top 8 on Rainbow 6: Siege, Overwatch, Valorant and Smash Bros on the National Student Esports League tables.
Similarly, they stormed the National University Esports League tables this summer in games like Rocket League.
Speaking about the tournament IGL for Warwick Esports James ‘Secret’ R has said “Great way to kick off the Uni leagues, and always fun to play a friendly local rival”.
