The Lost Boys – Mon 11th Feb 20:45

**If attitude was a form of currency, this film would be the richest of them all! THE LOST BOYS magnitudes our everyday senses with it’s blood, unholy saxophone solos and neon vision! **

Teenage brothers Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move with their mother (Dianne Wiest) to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star (Jami Gertz) — who turns out to be in thrall to David (Kiefer Sutherland), leader of a local gang of vampires. Sam and his new friends must save Michael and Star from the undead.!

Mary Queen Of Scots explores the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart (Saoirse Ronan). Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne – but Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie).

Each young Queen beholds her ‘sister’ in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence. Determined to rule as much more than a figurehead, Mary asserts her claim to the English throne, threatening Elizabeth’s sovereignty. Betrayal, rebellion, and conspiracies within each court imperil both thrones – and change the course of history.

This film screening will be followed by an afternoon tea including fresh sandwiches, homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, cakes and lashings of tea.

Valentine’s Day is so over. This year, MAC is all about Galentine’s Day – forget worrying about whether you’ve got a significant other, and spend February 14 celebrating your gal pals with a screening of cult 90s favourite Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion.

Ten years after their high school graduation, Romy (Mira Sorvino) and Michele (Lisa Kudrow) haven’t exactly accomplished everything that they set out to do. Despite their strong friendship, their personal and professional lives are still lacking. When they hear of their upcoming high school reunion, they take it as an opportunity to show their classmates how much they’ve changed — first by trying to reform themselves, then by creating a lie that eventually spins out of control.

We’re boycotting Valentine’s Day. There will be no celebrations of romantic love this year. Instead, join us for the ultimate Anti-Valentine’s shindig!

Enjoy a complimentary cocktail or mocktail, unlimited party food, Anti-Valentine’s games with prizes, a live music event and finish with a screening of Fatal Attraction in our cinema.

Fatal Attraction is a story too terrifying to resist, a crackling, tension-packed thriller hinged on the triangle of a man, a wife and vengeful “other woman”. Directed by Adrian Lyne (Flashdance9 1/2 Weeks) and starring Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer, this sexy, chic, scary box-office smash grabs hold early-then tops itself with an unforgettably nerve-jolting finale.

If Beale Street Could Talk – From 15th Feb

Barry Jenkins follows Best Picture Oscar winner Moonlight with a beautifully filmed adaptation of James Baldwin’s passionate, timeless and moving love story.

Set in early-1970s Harlem, If Beale Street Could Talk is a the story of both a couple’s unbreakable bond and the African-American family’s empowering embrace, as told through the eyes of 19-year-old Tish Rivers (newcomer Layne). A daughter and wife-to-be, Tish vividly recalls the passion, respect and trust that have connected her and her artist fiancé Alonzo Hunt, who goes by the nickname Fonny (Stephan James).

Friends since childhood, the devoted couple dream of a future together but their plans are derailed when Fonny is arrested for a crime he did not commit. Through the unique intimacy and power of cinema, If Beale Street Could Talk honors the author’s prescient words and imagery, charting the emotional currents navigated in an unforgiving and racially biased world as the filmmaker poetically crosses time frames to show how love and humanity endure.
