The Geeky Brummie Pull List with Danger Street #11
Our Pull List this week features 15 new comics. Our Comic of the Week title is Danger Street #11 from DC Comics Black Label. The other 3 comics on the main pull list are published by IDW Publishing and Marvel Comics. Our On The Radar selection includes a huge 11 comics from Image Comics, Marvel Comics, AWA and Oni Press. And MEANWHILE… returns with news of a new Marvel Omnibus.
If you want to send any comics or details of any comic related events we should feature, feel free to reach out to me at keith@geekybrummie.com or comics@geekybrummie.com
Now on with the comics…
Danger Street
Issue 11
DC Comics Black Label
Script – Tom King
Art – Jorge Fornés
Colours – Dave Stewart
Letters – Clayton Cowles
Buy digitally on Comixology – Danger Street #11 (Link)
Heroes and villains alike hasten their quest for the one thing in the Multiverse that assures victory…Fate! But when the pursuit of the Helmet of Fate spells death for some, Lady Cop must turn to the unlikeliest of heroes for help. Could the Dingbats of Danger Street really save them all?
I’ve really been enjoying this book. Tom King has shown how diverse and wonderful the DC Comic Universe can be, taking characters that have long since been forgotten, when all the world is interested in are the same heroes we see on the big screen, and shining a spotlight on them. This comic talks to my love of comic history, of the weird and wonderful stories that only comics can do. Highly recommended.
Alpha Flight
Issue 4
Marvel Comics
Script – Ed Brisson
Art – Scott Godlewski
Colours – Matt Milla
Letters – Travis Lanham
Buy digitally on Comixology – Alpha Flight #4 (Link)
NO MUTANT IS SAFE! ALPHA FLIGHT is boxed in by the very BOX SENTINELS they serve with! What secret agenda causes this schism within DEPARTMENT H, and how does it involve the mutants of Krakoa? Find out in the latest installment of the most surprise-packed series in the FALL OF X era! PLUS: Discover the fate of the hero known as NEMESIS!
With secrets revealed, this series is another that calls back to comics I loved in the past. This is one of the best Fall of X books I’m reading, and Brisson and Godlewski have captured the team perfectly. Perhaps the time is right for a new ongoing Alpha Flight series, but only time will tell once the dust has settled on this era of mutant titles.
The Immortal Thor
Issue 4
Marvel Comics
Script – Al Ewing
Art – Martín Cóccolo
Colours – Matt Wilson
Letters – Joe Sabino
Buy digitally on Comixology – The Immortal Thor #4 (Link)
SUMMONS OF THE ALL-FATHER! On the dark side of the moon, God faced Goddess—and that was only the beginning of Thor’s troubles. But as his many foes gathered to destroy him, the Odinson had one final trick to play… This is the story of THE IMMORTAL THOR…and the Summoning of the Four.
LEGACY #765
Lots of great stuff has been happening so far in this run. Al definitely has something new to say about the God of Thunder, and this series is hopefully going to run for as long as Immortal Hulk.
The Rocketeer: In The Den of Thieves
Issue 4
IDW Publishing
Script – Stephen Mooney
Art – David Messina
Letters – Shawn Lee
Buy digitally on Comixology – The Rocketeer: In The Den of Thieves #4 (Link)
The sky-scorching, action-packed finale! Cliff is behind enemy lines and face-to-face with a full flying complement of Nazi Rocketmen! As if this wasn’t bad enough, he, along with Peevy and Betty, have to spoil the Nazi’s last dirty trick-an AMERIKABOMBER, a prototype long-range transport, equipped and crammed with a squadron of enhanced Rocketmen, each armed with miniature rocket-propelled bombs… targeting New York!
It’s disappointing to see this title so low down on the League of Comic Geeks listings. The series has zipped by, and this finale looks to bring everything to a suitably explosive conclusion.
On the Radar, these are comics I’ve not got on my physical Pull List, but are books I’ll pick up digitally or in trades:
Fantastic Four #13
Marvel Comics
Script – Ryan North
Art – Iban Coello
Colours – Jesus Aburtov
Letters – Joe Caramagna
Buy digitally from Comixology – Fantastic Four #13 (Link)
Two universes, human and dinosaur, are colliding—and if one universe isn’t sacrificed, then both will be destroyed! And making matters worse, an incursion point between universes has swapped the dinosaur and human versions of the Fantastic Four! But there is another incursion point elsewhere…in Latveria. And Doctor Doom has plans of his own—after teaming up with the only person in the universe he can trust…himself! The FF and the Avengers are brought to their knees, and only the Brothers Grimm can save the day! Plus: The dinosaur Fantastic Four versus the Avengers!

Godzilla Returns with new Marvel Omnibus
Experience Doug Moench and Herb Trimpe’s thunderous run of ‘Godzilla’ in ‘Godzilla: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus,’ coming October 2024.
In 1977, Godzilla became one of Marvel Comics’ biggest stars, headlining a hit solo series set in the heart of the Marvel Universe!
Now, thanks to an exciting new collaboration with Toho International, the Japanese studio’s U.S.-based subsidiary that has brought global sensation Godzilla to life, this host of monumental Godzilla escapades costarring your favorite Marvel heroes will be collected next year in GODZILLA: THE ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS OMNIBUS!
The Marvel Godzilla
Marvel’s take on Japan’s greatest export represented an incredible creative collaboration between two comic book pioneers: Doug Moench, known for his definitive run of MASTER OF KUNG FU and co-creating Moon Knight, and Herb Trimpe, known for his seminal work on INCREDIBLE HULK and IRON MAN. In October 2024, fans can dive into all 24 issues of this fondly remembered chapter of Godzilla’s legacy, each one gloriously remastered and presented in color for the first time, in this long-awaited omnibus collection!
Godzilla rises from the depths in the United States—and the Marvel Universe! See the towering scourge of Tokyo march across America and battle some of the best and brightest the House of Ideas had to offer, including the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the Champions, Nick Fury and the mechanized monster fighter, Red Ronin!
Godzilla goes west, travels through time to battle Devil Dinosaur, and hosts one of Spider-Man’s most gratuitous guest-shots ever—but when Godzilla is shrunk down to miniature size, the terrible titan proves it can still be a tiny terror! Plus: Aliens, mutants, mad scientists and epic kaiju clashes with Godzilla’s fellow towering titans—including Batragon and Yetrigar!
Recently, Toho marked Godzilla’s 69 year history with Godzilla Day, a monster-sized celebration packed with exciting announcements, including news about the new Godzilla Minus One film, which opens in U.S. theaters next month. Now, Marvel Comics proudly honors the King of Monsters by revisiting its own unique connection to this legendary franchise with the reveal of this upcoming omnibus.
