The Geeky Brummie Pull List with I Hate This Place
It’s only a small Pull List this week. The Comic of the Week title goes to I Hate This Place from Image Comics. The only other comic on the main Pull List is from DC Comics. Our On The Radar selections are 5 comics from Image, Dark Horse Comics, DC Black Label and DC Horror Presents. And in MEANWHILE… we wish Old Stoney Face a happy 46th anniversary.
If you want to send any comics or details of any comic related events we should feature, feel free to reach out to me at keith@geekybrummie.com or comics@geekybrummie.com

NEW STORY ARC! Last year’s breakout horror series returns! Trudy’s past comes back to haunt her, which wouldn’t be so bad if she and Gabby weren’t already literally haunted by unimaginable forces of evil on a daily basis. Can’t a gal catch a break?
After a brief hiatus, I Hate This Place is back for a new story arc. It’ll be good to have Trudy and Gabby back and I hope we’ll find out more about the ranch and its place as a paranormal nexus.

HOUSE OF METALLO / HOME AGAIN, PART TWO / HEAD LIKE A WHOLE, PART TWO
METALLO ATTACKS! The crown jewel of Superman’s new Metropolis is in ruins, and the increasingly violent Blue Earth movement is keeping the entire Super-Family on their toes. Meanwhile, Metallo’s powerful new body is evolving in unforeseen, horrific ways. As Metallo’s life and sanity continue to unravel, he sets out to capture the only person who can help him: John Henry Irons. It’s Steel versus Metallo as the new era of Action Comics continues!
Wait! What! I know what you’re thinking, this book wasn’t on previous Pull Lists. It wasn’t even On The Radar. Where has this come from? Well, you’ll have to thank Leah Williams and Marguerite Sauvage. Their Power Girl story began in Lazarus Planet: Assault On Krypton and then continued in Action Comics 1051. Neither of those books featured previously, because I wasn’t even aware of the books until it popped up in Marguerite’s Twitter feed.
As I love Marguerite’s art, I immediately picked up those issues and was blown away by the story they were telling. What also happened is that DC has soft-rebooted its Superman line and Action Comics is now home to the Superfam. Kal is back and with him a Superman I can get behind again. And all the stories present in the previous issue slapped. If you’re a lapsed Superman fan like myself, these comics are the perfect place to jump back in.
On the radar some other comics not on the Pull List but well worth checking out:
