The Captain Comes Home
Long time readers will know I’m a huge fan of Captain Britain, and following the recent Knights of X, the current Captain, Betsy Braddock, is soon to return in an all new self titled series. It’s been a long time since Captain Britain, had a title of it’s own, and this five issue mini-series is long overdue.
Announced during the “Women of Marvel” panel at New York Comic Con in October, Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain is written by Tini Howard, who helmed the recent Excalibur and Knights of X series, with artist Vasco Georgiev. The first issue is set to debut in February 2023, from Marvel, and will also feature the original Captain, Brian Braddock, as the characters return to the UK.
THE CAPTAIN COMES HOME! And she’s got a whole new mission! With Otherworld settled, Braddock Manor restored, and her brother Captain Avalon at her side, you’d think things look pretty good for Betsy Braddock. Only it turns out, good ole Britain doesn’t want her back. No one wants a mutant menace carrying the shield of Captain Britain, and Betsy’s made more than a few enemies along her way. Quest-less and country-less, Betsy must define a role for herself. A fresh take on a beloved character, don’t miss the latest Tini Howard extravaganza and fan-favorite artist Vasco Georgiev’s Marvel debut!
