New Comic Book Day with Wonder Twins.
Time again to head out to your local comic shop and grab yourself some comics. These are Geeky Brummie’s picks of the comics available today from your local comic book store including Wonder Twins and Outer Darkness. Plus a round up of other regular comics you should be reading.
Title: Wonder Twins
Publisher: DC/Wonder Comics
Issue No.: 3
Creative Team: Mark Russell – Writer : Stephen Byrne – Artist & Cover Artist : Dan Mora – Variant Cover Artist
Wonder Twins is two creators working in perfect harmony. Mark Russell’s scripts are funny and engaging. Stephen Byrne’s art is bright and packed with action. Wonder Twins is the pick of the crop of DC’s teen-oriented Wonder Comics line. But this comic can and should be enjoyed by everyone. Plus, finally after much teasing we’ll get to see a lot more of Gleek.
From the Publisher:
“Exiled from their homeworld and still trying to adjust to life on Earth as normal teenage high school students and interns for the Justice League, Zan and Jayna find themselves attacked in their own home by the League of Annoyance. Now separated and unable to use their amazing powers of transformation, the twins find themselves forced to rely on Zan’s new pet monkey Gleek for help-but does the plucky purple primate even like his new owner enough to give a monkey’s butt about these young heroes?“
Title: Outer Darkness
Publisher: Image
Issue No.: 6
Creative Team: John Layman – Writer : Afu Chan – Artist & Cover Artist
This is the end of the hugely entertaining first story arc. If you’ve not yet picked up this comic – what’s wrong with you. Layman and Chan have created a wonderful sci-fi/horror story that should have more fans than it does.
From the Publisher:
“Exorcists, mathematicians, and soldiers mount up to battle one hell of a demon. With the number of dead crewmen mounting, Captain Rigg does what he can to save the rest, even if it means they had better be ready to die, too…“
Round Up
Also out this week are new issues from comics I recommend you start picking up including Supergirl #29, Symbiote Spider-Man #1 and Star Wars: Age of Rebellion – Princess Leia #1.
