X-Men: Grand Design – X-Tinction #NCBD 26th June 2019

New Comic Book Day with X-Men: Grand Design – X-Tinction.

Time to pick up some new comics from Worlds Apart Birmingham (formerly Nostalgia & Comics). These are Geeky Brummie’s picks of the comics available today from your local comic book store including the delayed X-Men: Grand Design – X-Tinction & Dial H for Hero.

Title: X-Men: Grand Design – X-Tinction

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Issue No.: 2

Creative Team: Ed Piskor – Writer, Artist, Cover Artist & Variant Cover Artist

Now this is an X-Men comic! Ed Piskor has done a phenomenal job with this series. Whisking us through the very convoluted history of the X-Men. His art and attention to detail has been astounding. I’d love to see him bring this series up to the current day but this looks like this will be it. Do yourself a favour and pick up all of Ed’s Grand Design comics – they are testament to how comics should be done.

From the Publisher:

“It’s here…the final chapter of Marvel’s best-selling prestige series X-MEN: GRAND DESIGN! Out with the old and in with the blue and gold as the X-Men enter the radical ’90s! Revisit innumerous classic storylines like the return of Jean Grey! The trial of Magneto! X-Tinction Agenda!!! And many, many more! With appearances by Jubilee, Gambit and the Reavers! Brought to life by the multi-hyphenate master of graphic fiction himself, Ed Piskor!

Title: Dial H For Hero

Publisher: DC Comics/Wonder Comics

Issue No.: 4

Creative Team: Sam Humphries – Writer : Joe Quinones – Artist & Cover Artist

I’ve really been enjoying Dial H so it was great to hear that the series has been extended to a 12 issue run. The story and art remind me of why I love comics and it’s clear that both Sam and Joe are having a blast. If you’re looking for something bring a smile to your face in your weekly pull list then this comic is just the tonic.

From the Publisher:

“With the Dial finally secured, and on the run from those who want to control the powerful device that can give anyone the powers of a random superhero, Miguel and Summer head to the old Justice League Detroit headquarters with the hope of finding some help in contacting Superman.

Round Up

Also out this week are some other comics I recommend you take a look at including Eve Stranger #2, Isola #8, War of the Realms #6, Head Lopper #12 and Spider-Man Annual featuring Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham #1.
