Hello! Welcome to the latest Geeky Brummie Games Release Roundup!
This week, samurai, digital monsters and classic tactics.
Re-Releases and Ports
Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 are coming to Switch this week, with the two classic Wii platformers coming either as a bundle or individually. With improved visuals and extra Rosalina storybook pages, this is a great option for people who no longer want to dig out their Wiis.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles (PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox X/S) is a reworked version of the classic 1997 PlayStation tactics RPG (which didn’t reach the UK until the reworked PSP remake). Built from scratch due to Square Enix losing the source code, this also includes reworked visuals, full voice acting and a few gameplay tweaks. Despite this, the remaster follows the original as authentically as possible.
Early Access
Genokids entered Early Access, and it stars a band of musicians who work together to stop an alien invasion using sick fighting moves. In other words, I’m pointing at this game like a character in The Amigara Fault. You play as the titular band, with the ability to swap between the colour coded members, each with their own abilities, as they fight off aliens in flashy cel-shaded battles. Looks rad as heck. Developed by Nukefist.

New Releases
Mind Diver (PC) is a detective game where you swim through the memories of a woman named Lina to try and solve a missing persons case. You explore Lina’s memories and seek out hidden secrets. Developed by Indoor Sunglasses and published by Playism (Blade Chimera, Exit 8, Momodora series).
Lego Party (PC, PlayStation, Switch 1, Xbox) is Mario Party with Lego. Each board is based on a different Lego set, including Pirates, Space and Ninjago, while minigames cover a multitude of genres. If you want to argue with your friends and want it to look a lot blockier than Mario usually does, Lego Party is for you. Developed by Fictions and published by SMG Studio.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger (PS5) is a huge RPG where you must prevent the collapse of the world by venturing into the digital world and raising an army of Digimon. Developed by Media.Vision (Valkyria Chronicles 4, Wild Arms series) and published by Bandai Namco. Released just in time to coincide with a Digimon pop-up at the Bandai Namco Cross Store, so if you’re local, you can find it on New Street (there’s also one in Camden, if you’re down that way).

Game of the Week
Game of the Week is Ghost of Yotei (PS5), the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima from first-party Sony studio Sucker Punch.
Set three centuries after Ghost of Tsushima, you play as Atsu, a mercenary woman seeking vengeance for the death of her family at the hands of the Yotei Six. Explore the environment around Hokkaido, mastering a range of weapons as you track down your targets.
Ghost of Tsushima was a great bit of samurai action, complete with stunning visuals where nature was your guide. I’m expecting good things from the new one, especially with Erika Ishii in the lead role as Atsu. So obviously I had to make it Game of the Week.
