The Geeky Brummie Pull List with Battle Action #3
It’s a 10 comic week for you on the Pull List this week. The Comic of the Week title goes to Battle Action #3 from Rebellion. The other 4 comics on the main Pull all come from Marvel Comics. Our On The Radar selection includes 5 comics from Image Comics, Marvel, DC Black Label BOOM! Studios and Sumerian Comics. This week in MEANWHILE… it’s a quiet one for news so it takes a week off,
If you want to send any comics or details of any comic related events we should feature, feel free to reach out to me at keith@geekybrummie.com or comics@geekybrummie.com
Now on with the comics…
Battle Action
Issue 3
Rebellion
Script – Garth Ennis and Rob Williams
Art – Henry Flint and John Higgins
Colours – Sally Hurst
Letters – Rob Steen
Buy online from 2000AD webshop – Battle Action #3 (Link)
Garth Ennis (The Boys, Preacher) and John Higgins (Hellblazer, Before Watchmen) take a break from war stories to bring you a brutal tale set in 1981, featuring Dredger tracking down kidnappers and delivering justice in his own unique way.
And Major Eazy makes a comeback in a brand-new story written by Rob Williams (Suicide Squad, Sword of Hyperborea), as Eazy must ensure that his soldiers survive the Battle of El Alamein, drawn by Henry Flint (Hawk the Slayer, Judge Dredd).
This has been a fantastic series so far. Having only two stories in each issue, means we get a complete and satisfying story each time. I’ve been surprised at how well these characters and stories still work, so long after their last appearances. This is probably attributable to the talented writers and artists, tasked with bringing these stories into the 21st Century, lead, of course, by Garth Ennis, who is a dab hand at revitalising war stories for a modern audience. I hope that Rebellion see fit to publish a new run each year, as this has been a very enjoyable comic.

What is meant to be mutantkind’s biggest night becomes their biggest nightmare as the Fall of X begins! All your favorite X-Men are going to be left reeling after this one—shocking revelations, stunning betrayals, horrifying tragedy, impossible deaths…and of course the most glamorous looks of the year, all in one CANNOT-MISS package!
Well, it’s all going to kick off now. The Hellfire Gala has a history of launching the X-books in to their next phases and this one is certainly kicking off the most important phase of the current mutant era. Whatever happens, at least the cast are going to look great doing it.
She-Hulk
Issue 15
Marvel Comics

Buy digitally on Comixology – She-Hulk #15 (Link)
Scoundrel pushes She-Hulk to the limit in her final push to save all of NYC from her newest rogue! Meanwhile, the Fight Club has their hands full taking on an alien horde!
LEGACY #178 | FINAL ISSUE
I know it says, Final Issue, but don’t panic as Rainbow Rowell has recently announced they will be back with The Sensational She-Hulk in October. It will be a straight continuation of this series, but with the old Marvel nonsense of relaunching with a new #1, because you lot weren’t picking it up. Hopefully, this issue will wrap up current storyline and get Jack and Jen back together. Now, make sure you put Sensational on your Pull List so Marvel know how much we love this character.
The X-Cellent
Issue 5
Marvel Comics
Script – Peter Milligan
Art – Michael Allred
Colours – Laura Allred
Letters – Nate Piekos
Buy digitally on Comixology – The X-Cellent #5 (Link)
All hail your new god, Zeitgeist! With his new powers and zealots at his side, the X-Statix don’t stand a chance! But an old friend is about to shake up the status quo… Don’t miss the dramatic finale of these superstar heroes!
LEGACY #10
Another end for another excellent book. I’ve no idea how well this book has done sales wise, but as it always appears mid-table in the League of Comic Geeks pull list, I’m not sure we’ll get another series. It’s a shame as the book is a lot of fun and is a much needed alternative to the main line mutant books. Do yourself a favour and pick up all the previous issue and have yourself a great time.
The Amazing Spider-Man
Issue 30
Marvel Comics
Script – Zeb Wells
Art – Ed McGuinness, Cliff Rathburn and Mark Farmer
Colours – Marcio Menyz
Letters – Joe Caramagna
Buy digitally on Comixology – The Amazing Spider-Man #30 (Link)
Spidey goes one last round with the new and improved Doc Ock. Can his newest ally help turn the tide?
LEGACY #924
Yeah, yeah, I know. Whatever people say, this is the most pulled book of the week, and I’m having some fun reading it.
On the radar, some other comics not on the Pull List but well worth checking out:
The Incredible Hulk #2
Marvel Comics
Script – Phillip Kennedy Johnson
Art – Nic Klein
Colours- Matt Wilson
Letters – Cory Petit
Buy digitally from Comixology – The Incredible Hulk #2 (Link)
The Mother of Horrors demands her freedom! Now every eldritch horror and primordial being has its eyes set on the Jade Giant! Meanwhile, on their path to peace and isolation, Banner and his new friend Charlie find themselves forced to pass through an abandoned coal mining town…but when night falls, the term “ghost town” takes on a terrifying new meaning.
LEGACY #783
Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor #1

While the world wants to say good riddance to Luthor, Superman will go to the ends of the universe, through different dimensions, and across time to save his foe. But just why does he want to save the person who’s spent his life trying to destroy him? And will he even be able to find the solution?
BRZRKR: Poetry of Madness #1
BOOM! Studios
Script – Keanu Reeves and Steve Skroce
Art – Steve Skroce
Colours – Dave Stewart
Buy digitally on Comixology – BRZRKR: Poetry of Madness #1 (Link)
A sea of gore and devastation awaits as B, through a fateful chance encounter, safeguards the advanced and ancient realm of Atlantis as its unstoppable protector.
But a sickly king serves as a symbol for the rot inside, as the security and bliss created through B’s violence is shallow… The cracks created by a secret cult might spell a monstrous end for the legendary city, one beyond even B’s ability to save.
Renowned filmmaker and record-shattering comic creator Keanu Reeves joins acclaimed writer and artist Steve Skroce (Doctor Strange) for a one-shot special that fans of Lovecraftian horror would be mad to miss!
