Scream! Halloween Special 2026
REBELLION
By Alex Paknadel, Alejandro Aragon, Jason Wordie, Jonathan Stevenson, Zac Thompson, Mattia Monaco, Maco, Zoe Tunnell, Chloe Brailsford, J. P. Jordan, Jodie Troutman, Oliver Gerlach, Vic Malhotra, Michael Gorman, Babs Tarr and Kyle Fewell

Doppelgangers and horrifying transformations lurk in the shadows of the Scream! 2026 Halloween Special, as the lines between reality and nightmare blur across five twisted tales — ranging from vampire conspiracies to an AI software update from hell, to body-altering experimental tech, to a mutating archeological find…
Following Scream!’s 40th anniversary and the success of the Eisner-nominated Scream! The Specials 1985-2024, the anthology comic is back with all-new episodes of The Dracula File and The Thirteenth Floor, and brand new one-shots to keep you up at night all through Halloween season… and beyond!
The ghoul is back! Celebrating the legacy of the legendary 1980s British horror comic, this 48-page anthology is packed with modern nightmares from a truly stellar lineup of creators. Featuring the return of The Dracula File by Alex Paknadel and Alejandro Aragon, alongside a terrifyingly relevant A.I. upgrade for The Thirteenth Floor by Zac Thompson and Mattia Monaco, this special perfectly balances classic, anarchic terror with modern anxieties. From the monetisation of sleep in Consent Is Key to the damp, dread-filled horror of The Bog Body, this collection is an absolute must-read. It captures the exact, terrifying energy of the original series while proving that British horror comics are alive, well, and ready to follow you home. If you only buy one spooky book this week, make it this one.

Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone #1
IDW PUBLISHING
By Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan and Pablo Tunica
Buy from Forbidden Planet – Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone #1 (Link)
The Wanderer is held captive by G-Force!
Far, far away from his home in the Deadzone, the Wanderer is a captive in New York City! As he’s poked and prodded by a team of scientists, he’ll fill in the gaps of his mysterious past… and learn of the government’s true plans for the future of the Deadzone.
Join Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan, and Pablo Tunica as they return to the Deadzone in this five-issue miniseries!
What happens when you combine the unstoppable force of the King of the Monsters with the relentless horror of the undead? You get Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone. Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan have crafted a story that takes the traditional kaiju formula and injects it with a heavy dose of pure, unadulterated nightmare fuel. Pablo Tunica’s artwork is the real star here, perfectly capturing the massive scale of Godzilla while rendering the grotesque, decaying threats of the Deadzone in terrifying detail. It is a chaotic, brutal, and visually stunning opening issue that will appeal to both long-time Godzilla fans and horror aficionados alike. This is big, loud, and wonderfully monstrous comic book storytelling at its absolute finest.

Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives #1
IMAGE COMICS · SKYBOUND
By Kelly Thompson, Mattia De Iulis and Becca Carey
Buy from Forbidden Planet – Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives #1 (Link)
HERE COMES THE BRIDE…
Kelly Thompson and Mattia De Iulis (Absolute Wonder Woman, The Cull) reunite once again to deliver the most haunting new horror series of the year. Born in the heart of a thunderstorm, made of stolen flesh, electricity, and monstrous desperation, The Bride lives!
With no memory of her past or understanding of what she is, The Bride took her first steps into the world and was…displeased. Now, she must discover where and who she came from and begin what every living thing begins…the process of staying alive.
The Universal Monsters line from Image/Skybound has been consistently excellent, and The Bride of Frankenstein Lives might be their best entry yet. Kelly Thompson takes the reins to explore the iconic Bride’s quest for agency and identity in a world that fears her. Mattia De lulis’s artwork is simply breathtaking, utilising a lush, gothic palette that makes every single page feel like a painted masterpiece. This is not just a rehash of an old monster movie; it is a deeply atmospheric, character-driven story about survival, rebirth, and what it truly means to be alive. It is a gorgeous, haunting comic that respects its classic roots while forging a bold, new path forward for one of cinema’s most tragic figures.

Escape from New York: Escape from Chicago #2
MAD CAVE STUDIOS
By Kyle Higgins, Alex Sanchez, Val Rodrigues, Natalia Marques and Jeff Eckleberry
Buy from Forbidden Planet – Escape from New York: Escape from Chicago #2 (Link)
Chicago’s prison territories are tightly controlled by militarized factions. The Stockyard Nation controls the industrial south side, running brutal scavenger operations through abandoned slaughterhouses. The Magnificent Mile Syndicate operates out of the city’s former financial district, ruling through organized crime and calculated violence. Along the shoreline, the Lakefront Raiders dominate the highways with fast-moving vehicle gangs. Snake knows how to move through hostile territory, but Chicago is different. Here, every neighborhood is claimed, every street watched. And the eyes watching him closest belong to the very woman who’s hired him to guide her. There’s bad blood between Maya Torres and Snake Plissken…And if they can survive the macheted maniacs on all sides, they’ll have to contend with each other. Chapter two of the genre-breaking thriller!
The legendary Snake Plissken is back, and his latest mission is proving to be just as chaotic and dangerous as you would hope. Kyle Higgins perfectly captures the gritty, cynical tone of John Carpenter’s original cinematic universe, dropping Snake into a decaying, hyperviolent Chicago that makes Manhattan look like a holiday resort. The action is relentless, the dialogue is razor-sharp, and the artwork by Alex Sanchez and Val Rodrigues brings the dystopian, neon-soaked ruins of the city to vivid life. Whether you are a die-hard fan of the films or just a lover of high-octane, dystopian sci-fi, this series is delivering on all fronts. Snake is still the coolest anti-hero in the room, and this book is an absolute blast.

Feral #27
IMAGE COMICS
By Tony Fleecs, Tone Rodriguez, Trish Forstner and Brad Simpson
Buy from Forbidden Planet – Feral #27 (Link)
With no more doors left to open, Elsie is all alone, deeper in the RABID forest than she’s ever been. To survive, she’ll have to make uneasy alliances. But can she trust these new creatures? Who or what are the WILD CATS?
Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner continue their streak of delivering one of the most deceptively dark and compelling books on the shelves. While the cute, animated style might trick you into thinking this is a lighthearted animal adventure, Feral is a brutal, terrifying, and deeply emotional survival horror story. This issue ramps up the tension as the infected wildlife closes in, forcing our feline protagonists to make some truly harrowing choices. The contrast between the adorable character designs and the visceral, bloody horror of their situation remains incredibly effective. It is a masterclass in pacing and tone, proving that you do not need human characters to tell a deeply human story about fear, loyalty, and survival against the odds.
