FML #1
Dark Horse Comics
By Kelly Sue DeConnick, David López, Cris Peter and Clayton Cowles
Riley is a teen that sketches out his heavy metal future with a ballpoint pen between monster movies and band practice. But musical stardom needs to compete with high school, the temper of a former Riot Grrrl mother, the morbid obsessions of a goth sister, and the eccentricities of bandmates that threaten to drive him and everyone around him insane.
The balance gets harder after a ritual during a party in Portland’s Forest Park causes him to wake up one day to discover that the creatures, witchcraft, and metal world he’s obsessed with may be a bit closer to home than he preferred.
A brand-new creator owned series from the team that brought you Captain Marvel!
Features bonus material exclusive to the single issues only, such as essays on music, true crime, interviews, and more!
This exciting new series from the Eisner award-winning team of Kelly Sue DeConnick and David Lòpez is set in Portland, Oregon during a worldwide pandemic, and follows Riley, a teenage metalhead who dreams of musical stardom. Between monster movies and band practice, Riley sketches out his heavy metal future with a ballpoint pen. However, balancing high school, a temperamental former Riot Grrrl mother, a morbidly obsessed goth sister, and eccentric bandmates proves to be a challenge.
Things take a wild turn when a ritual during a party in Portland’s Forest Park causes Riley to wake up to discover that the creatures, witchcraft, and metal world he’s obsessed with may be closer to home than he ever imagined.
FML #1 promises to be a genre-busting, apocalyptic odyssey filled with bizarre foes and encounters. The series also features bonus material exclusive to the single issues, such as essays on music, true crime, interviews, and more, so be sure to pick up those floppies.

Survivors abandon the Earth, but the Avengers refuse to give up. With many dead, wounded, and some even transformed by the Xenomorphs, the Avengers must fight back to avenge the planet.

Absolute Superman #1
DC Comics
By Jason Aaron, Rafa Sandoval, Ulises Arreola and Becca Carey
Buy digitally – Absolute Superman #1 (Link)
SUPERSTARS JASON AARON AND RAFA SANDOVAL UNLEASH A SHOCKING NEW TAKE ON THE LAST SON OF KRYPTON! Without the fortress… without the family… without a home… what’s left is the Absolute Man of Steel!
Following on from Batman and Wonder Woman, we’re introduced to a shockingly new take on the Last Son of Krypton. This is a Superman without his familiar comforts: no fortress, no family, and no home.
The story begins on Krypton, years before its destruction, and nine million light-years from Earth. We see a harsher, more capitalistic Krypton, where even rain is a commodity that farmers must pay for. Kal-El’s mother, Lara Lor-Van, is condemned to a life in the servant caste for daring to question her elders at a young age.
As we follow Kal-El’s journey, we see how he becomes Absolute Superman, stripped of everything he once knew, yet still determined to find his place in the universe.
Superman #1 promises to be a fresh and intriguing take on Superman’s origin story, presenting a new perspective on the iconic hero, where the ‘S’ symbol no longer stands for Hope.
Saga #70
Image Comics
By Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples and Fonografiks
Buy digitally – Saga #70 (Link)
People change.
We continue the epic journey of Alana and Marko as they navigate the complexities of parenthood and survival in a war-torn universe. In this issue, people change, and the characters face new challenges and transformations that will test their bonds and resolve.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Nightwatcher #3
IDW Publishing
By Juni Ba, Fero Peniche, Luis Antonio Delgado and Nathan Widick
Buy digitally – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Nightwatcher #3 (Link)
In the wake of the M-Bomb that was dropped in Union Square over a year ago, many New Yorkers’ lives were turned upside down as they struggled to adapt to their new normal as human-born mutants. As the social media circus descends on a new mutant who turned to crime after her life was destroyed, Nightwatcher seeks to find her first and discover the full story. The supposedly simple case rapidly gets more complicated as more details are revealed, though, and it’s up to Nightwatcher to determine who truly needs justice.
Jennika’s new adventure continues exploring themes of justice, identity, and the struggles of being different in a world that often fears what it doesn’t understand.
Living Hell #1
Dark Horse Comics
By Caitlin Yarsky and Clayton Cowles
Buy digitally – Living Hell #1 (Link)
Meet Jerome Jameel — husband, father, demon.
Hell is not just a place; it’s a prison, a realm where demons have lived in exile for eons. A few of them find a way back to the human world, where they hide in plain sight. Jerome was one of the lucky few to escape and start a new life, and for the sake of his daughter — Jerome is determined to stay out of trouble. But when he comes face-to-face with one of Hell’s bounty hunters, his plans go awry. Caitlin Yarsky’s creator owned debut!
This beautiful looking new series from Caitlin Yarsky, introduces us to Jerome Jameel, a demon who has escape a hellish prison and begun a new life on Earth. The story combines humour, heart, and just a little bit of darkness, and should be a must read for fans of stuff like Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Good Omens. Jerome’s story looks to be a fresh take on the supernatural genre, exploring the challenges of balancing family life with a dark past.
Each week we’ll be selecting one unmissable trade paperback, that absolutely must be in your collection.

The epic climax of Marvel’s classic saga of the Spaceknight! Rom has exposed the vile Dire Wraiths hiding in Earth’s midst — but that only means his accursed enemies become more bold…and more deadly! It’s a good thing Rom has allies, including his armored companion, Starshine, and fellow heroes including Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Alpha Flight and the New Mutants — but will perennial sidekick, Rick Jones, be his new best pal? As the Dire Wraiths scale up their invasion plans, seeking to merge their Wraithworld with Earth, Forge of the X-Men lends a technological hand — and, in the final fight to save the world, practically every Marvel super hero joins the fray! But, if Rom can complete his mission at last, what will that leave for the Spaceknight? Can he find his happy ending, back on Galador?
Collecting ROM (1979) #51-75 and ANNUAL #3-4, and INCREDIBLE HULK (1968) #296.
This is it, we reach the epic climax of Marvel’s classic saga of the Spaceknight, brought to us by the legendary Bill Mantlo with art by Sal Buscema, Steve Ditko, and a host of Marvels greatest artists. Rom has exposed the vile Dire Wraiths hiding in Earth’s midst, but this only makes his accursed enemies bolder and more deadly.
With guest appearances from Nick Fury, Forge, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Alpha Flight, and the New Mutants, this is the culmination of ROM’s epic fight to rid the Universe of the Dire Wraiths.
I truly love this series and it fills me with joy to know that others now have the opportunity to discover why this character and his journey had such an impact on me. Long live ROM, greatest of the Spaceknights.
Pat Mills Wants To Kick(starter) You
This Friday 8th November 2024, the legendary Pat Mills will launch his first ever Kickstarter campaign. Pat has created and written some incredible comics over the past 40 years and now we have the opportunity to grab one of his tales that was originally published in French between 1996 and 1998, with a trade paperback released in the US via Heavy Metal, but this is now long out of print. Make sure you check out the campaign when it launches, but until then here’s Pat himself to tell you more about it.
Pat on Sha
I’m so excited to tell you about my first ever Kickstarter, which launches on Friday November 8! It’s for SHA: The Shadow One, the first book in a three-volume series by myself and award-winning, top French fantasy artist Olivier Ledroit.
We’re creating a stunning deluxe edition of SHA, in keeping with the high standards of French bande dessinée. Something to collect and cherish. This deluxe edition is exclusive to Kickstarter and will not be available for sale anywhere else.
What’s it about?
SHA is a science fantasy, revenge story set in the futuristic, nightmare city of New Eden. It features DETECTIVE DUFFY, who is assigned to hunt down the deadly assassin SHA. If you’re missing the golden age of 2000AD, with its fondly-remembered classics, you’ll find similar elements and more in SHA: futuristic death games, amazing SF vehicles, crazy, robotic villains, fanatical space missionaries and President John Smith XXIX, the 29th clone of the American President. In fact, SHA was originally inspired by my Sláine saga, where I first came across Scatha, an amazing, Irish champion who taught Celtic Cuchulain his martial arts which surely makes her … the ultimate warrior! This astonishing hero evolved into SHA – The Shadow One.
UK Debut
For many fans, SHA will be the first time they can get their hands on an English language PRINT edition of Olivier’s work. Because our best-selling ,12-volume REQUIEM VAMPIRE KNIGHT series is currently only available digitally in English. So for print-only fans of Olivier, SHA is an absolute must!
Almost 10,000 fans visited Olivier’s Requiem Vampire Knight exhibition this year at Angoulême! There’s also a Manga series and a Requiem spinoff series in the works. But SHA is where it all began, when Olivier and I first teamed up together and we feel our Kickstarter special deluxe edition and hardback editions do this legendary series justice.
If you want to sign up to be notified when our campaign goes live, click here.
I’ve listed the details of the Kickstarter reward tiers and add-ons below, with some unusual and exciting EXTRAS!
Thanks so much in advance for your support!
