Now on with the comics…
The Sensational She-Hulk
Issue 2
Marvel Comics
Script – Rainbow Rowell
Art – Andrés Genolet
Colours – Dee Cunniffe
Letters – Joe Caramagna
Buy digitally on Comixology – The Sensational She-Hulk #2 (Link)
INCREDIBLE AND SENSATIONAL! The Incredible Hulk comes for his cousin, and it’s not a social call! Both Hulk books collide! What villain is brave enough to bait the two strongest heroes (one with way better hair) of the Marvel Universe?! PLUS: In honor of Native/Indigenous Heritage Month, the Best Friend of the Marvel Universe and She-Hulk’s ex-boyfriend WYATT WINGFOOT makes his triumphant return in a bonus story!
LEGACY #180
I’m putting this book at the top because I want more of you to read it. This is the continuation of the previous She-Hulk run that was such a delight. This issue promises sparks will fly, when Bruce pops by unannounced. I love the Jen and Jack of Hearts romance so I hope the return of Jen’s old flame Wyatt, isn’t going to throw a spanner in that relationship. This book is just fantastic and I highly recommend you give it a shot.
Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong
Issue 2
DC Comics
Script -Brian Buccellato
Art – Christian Duce
Colours – Luis Guerrero
Letters – Jimmy Betancourt
Buy digitally on Comixology – Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #2 (Link)
LEGENDARY’S MONSTERVERSE HAS BEEN UNLEASHED ON THE DC UNIVERSE, AND CITIES ARE THREATENED ACROSS THE GLOBE! From Metropolis to Gotham City to Themyscira, the Justice League scrambles to protect the citizens from these raging titans! What role has the Legion of Doom played in all this monster madness, and how will the tide of battle change…when a hero falls?!
The first of this series was a total blast, that actually made this whole insane crossover make perfect sense. Personally I’d like to see more kaiju action but as we’ve a few issues to go I’m sure we will get a monster smackdown of epic proportions soon enough. It’s absolute nonsense, but if you love stupid action comics this will sate your appetite.
Void Rivals
Issue 6
Image Comics
Script – Robert Kirkman
Art – Lorenzo De Felici
Colours – Mat Lopes
Letters – Rus Wooton
Buy digitally on Comixology – Void Rivals #6 (Link)
END OF STORY ARC Premier Zalilak will stop at nothing to prevent Darak and Solila from escaping Zertonia! But what secret awaits at the center of the Sacred Ring?
This has been a hugely satisfying first arc for Void Rivals. Beyond setting the ball rolling on the Energon Universe, this has become a story that has stood on its own as a entertain and engaging tale. I’m looking forward to seeing where Kirkman and co take us next.
Star Trek
Issue 14
IDW Publishing
Script – Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing
Art – Marcus To
Colours – Lee Loughridge
Letters – Clayton Cowles
Buy digitally on Comixology – Star Trek #14 (Link)
Captain Sisko and the crew of the USS Theseus team up with Starfleet Operative Kingsnake-a.k.a. Harry Kim-to stop the war-loving Tzenkethi from launching their fleet across the Quadrant. Unfortunately for Starfleet, however, the Tzenkethi leader has a surprise guest of his own who will stop at nothing to thwart Starfleet’s plans. Meanwhile, when the crew is greeted by continuous-and frightening-earthquakes, Dr. Crusher realizes there is more going on with the planet than they may be able to survive.
What a brilliant series this is, and now a character who has always deserved more, is returning to the fold. It’ll be nice to see Harry and Tom back together, and I hope Kingsnake get to hang around for a while.
Immortal X-Men
Issue 17
Marvel Comics
Script – Kieron Gillen
Art – Juan José Ryp
Colours – David Curiel
Letters – Clayton Cowles
Buy digitally on Comixology – Immortal X-Men #17 (Link)
X MY HEART! Xavier swore he would stay on Krakoa and defend its memory. He’s leaving. There must be a good reason to leave one doomed island for another—and the dark secrets that await beneath Muir Island. Meanwhile, something is very wrong with Jean…or is it something very right?
I love this cover and I can’t wait to see where all this is leading to.
The Amazing Spider-Man
Issue 38
Marvel Comics
Script – Zeb Wells
Art – Ed McGuinness, Emilio Laiso, Mark Farmer and Wade Von Grawbadger
Colours – Marcio Menyz and Erick Arciniega
Letters – Joe Caramagna
Buy digitally on Comixology – The Amazing Spider-Man #38 (Link)
GANG WAR: FIRST STRIKE! Can Spider-Man and Rek-Rap both survive the repulsive REPO?! THE LAST ISSUE BEFORE GANG WAR!

As the mystery of what happened in The Ledge deepens so does the danger when the powerful super being The Searcher (from Minor Threats vol. 1!) comes a callin’!
Get Ready for a Drokking Christmas
The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic marks the end of another year with the traditional festive blowout – a 100-page mega-special featuring brand-new stories and a surprise creative guest!
2000 AD Prog 2362 is out on the 13th December – and you can pre-order this special issue now, with FREE postage within the U.K.
Within its pages you will find an all-new Strontium Dog story by comedian and actor Rufus Hound (Doctor Who) with artist Dan Cornwell! Speaking on his arrival in The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Hound says:
“I’d never believed that I’d get a chance like this. That ACTUAL 2000 AD would ask me – ME! – to write so much as a single syllable for their illustrious pages. Not only that, but to be given the opportunity to reimagine something from the golden era of Strontium Dog? Proper dream come true stuff.”
A Strontium Dog is not just for Christmas
In Strontium Dog: ‘Alpha’, Johnny and Wulf are en-route to the planet Aminovarm in the hold of a star cruiser when Johnny intervenes in a domestic incident. When the son gives Johnny an alien delicacy as a thank you gift, things go south and psychedelic in equal amounts! Hound described the story:
Johnny Alpha always had it hard, but kept his upper-lip stiff and his chin granite-like. However, what if a diary of his was discovered? Something that peeled away a later or two of the man? That allowed us some insight into the mind of Johnny Alpha, not merely marvel at his tough-as-hell actions. That’s what ‘Alpha’ is.
I’ve filled my story with classic SD references, but I hope the greatest act of fan service is the tale itself. I’ve tried to give Wulf and Johnny something that I think most fans have always craved for them, whilst still letting them be Johnny and Wulf. With Carlos’ passing, getting this right seems even more important somehow. I just hope the amount of love and hard work I’ve lavished on it shines through.
A Selection Prog of Treats
The 100-page Spectacular will continue ongoing stories Feral & Foe, Helium, Enemy Earth and The Devil’s Railroad, but they’re joined by a heavenly host of one-off stories: a new Judge Dredd tale by Ken Niemand & Tom Foster, Azimuth by Dan Abnett & Tazio Bettin, Rogue Trooper by Geoffrey D. Wessel & Simon Coleby, Fiends of the Eastern Front by Ian Edginton & Tiernen Trevallion, Anderson, Psi-Div by Torunn Gronbekk & Kieran McKeown, and Strontium Dog by Rufus Hound & Dan Cornwell!
All this wrapped inside a chaotic cover from Cliff Robinson and Dylan Teague? Grud bless us, every one!
On sale 13 December, Prog 2362 isn’t a Christmas stocking-stuffer – it’s a Yuletide mind-expander! Available for pre-order now!
